    Odyssey Welcome Reception and Luncheon

     The Odyssey Peer Mentoring Program is hosting a welcome reception and luncheon open to the campus community for students to connect with each other and learn about how to become involved in a vibrant network of mentors and mentees. This interactive event will include a keynote speaker from the community about the impact of mentoring for career and academic success, student testimonials from past program participants, speeches from campus partners, food, fun and music.

    KSU Money Wise Series: Credit Card Debt - Avalanche vs. Snowball

    Financial planning Associates from Henssler Financial will cover every day, practical financial skills including using interest rates and credit, cash flow, basic budgeting and tools students can use to manage their finances as students advance into their career. This month, we will be discussing the impact of interest rates, payoff strategies, the minimum payment trap and keys to success.

     Financial planning Associates from Henssler Financial will cover every day, practical financial skills including using interest rates and credit, cash flow, basic budgeting and tools students can use to manage their finances as students advance into their career. This month, we will be discussing who needs to file taxes, tax prep methods, managing your paycheck, and budgeting techniques.

    In this workshop presented by Career Planning and Development, the learning outcomes are are as follows:

    • Students will be able to articulate experience, skills, and achievements clearly and effectively in resume format. 
    • Students will collaborate with each other to peer review first-draft resume bullets. 
    • Students will understand the importance of displaying their global/intercultural fluency on their resume. 
    • Students will understand the importance and purpose of a resume.

    Odyssey Midterm Mania: Escape Room Challenge

     Peer mentors will create an escape room experience in the University Rooms of the Student Center (Kennesaw Campus). This event will be a team building activity to see which room finishes fastest. The challenges consist of solving riddles, trivia, and puzzles. The mentoring skills focus for the event includes building communication skills and trust between mentors, mentees, and other participating KSU students.
