    Peer Mentor Training

    Students will learn the basics of a successful mentoring experience.Student Learning Outcomes
    • Understand roles and responsibilities of Peer Mentors​
    • Learn Strategies to work effectively with mentees​
    • To present an overview of the University Support Services and Resources​
    • To teach peer mentors how and when to refer mentees for additional or specialized help

    Odyssey Mentoring Welcome Reception


    The Odyssey Peer Mentoring Program hosts welcome receptions each semester open to the campus community for students to connect with each other and learn about how to become involved in a vibrant network of mentors and mentees. This event serves as a semester kickoff event and orientation into the mentoring experience. This interactive event will include a keynote speaker from the community about the impact of mentoring for career and academic success, student testimonials from past program participants, speeches from campus partners, food, fun and music. 

    Student Learning Outcomes 

    • Students will come away from the program knowing the roles and responsibilities of mentors and mentees 
    • Students will learn about opportunities to further their engagement on campus and in the community 
    • Students will reflect on mentoring and the importance of the mentoring relationships to the campus experience

     Do you struggle with the art of networking at social events or for professional job functions. Do you get tongue tied, nervous, or just generally struggle with what to say to make professional connections? This workshop is here to go over essensial strategies for networking success in both in person and online formats. Learn how to expand your professional network with ease! Students will learn how to prepare an elevator pitch, how to appropriately present themselves to propective employers, and how to follow-up after a successful networking interaction.
